Will the live update work for the giveaway version of this software, or will we be required to purchase a licence to use it?

If we do use it will it invalidate the licence due to the terms and conditions which state "No free upgrades to future versions" Also, if I mistakenly press the button is there a fail safe so that I can cancel the update before it starts or during the process of updating so that it reverts back via a roll-back system?
